Well what can you say, a Parador is something special! Whilst it's out of town, it's a short taxi trip, 8euros, to experience the fabulous Plaza Major and in the evening it truly comes alive ! When you arrive and stand in one of the arches entering the Plaza, you are suddenly aware of the hum of conversations by a thousand and more people! Nothing intimidating, but inviting you in to enjoy the whole occasion! Around it's glorious architectural magnificence, all lit after dark, there are many restaurants and bars to excite the palate and senses! So, don't miss out, enjoy one of THE experiences that this ancient city has to offer, if you do, you'll remember this place always ! This is The Real Spain!!!

The Parador was easy to find and the parking facilities were very good. We stayed here twice. Once en route to Portugal and once on the way home. The rooms were very comfortable and very, very quiet. Plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. There is a mini bar in the bedroom (which is huge, the bedroom, not the fridge) but no tea or coffee making facilities, however there is a cafeteria on the ground floor. We opted for breakfast which was absolutely fabulous. It seems that everyone was well catered for, breads, cakes, pastries, cereals, meats, fruit, yoghurt, coffee tea and juices. All serve yourself. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Our view of the city was unbelievable. It was like a painting. Easily the highlight. The parking was very simple and free. Reception was quietly friendly. We asked for an iron and ironing board and it was delivered promptly. We liked being just far enough away from the noise and traffic of the city. It was a lovely 15 minute walk across the magnificent Roman Bridge to the city. Hotel was easy to find. We would have liked to have stayed a couple more nights as we didn't have enough time to enjoy more of the hotel facilities. We had moderate expectations and happily they were exceeded.

The accommodation is in a perfect location with a beautiful view of the cathedral. Just a 10 min walk to the centre with the shops and restaurants. The view from our room was stunning, especially at night.. There were ample free parking places and also secure underground for an extra charge. Perfect for our motorbike. There was a cafe style restaurant and also a nice restaurant for an evening meal. The breakfast was superb. The pool area was nice and refreshing on a hot day, but in early June, the water is still very cold.

Rachel

We chose this property as we needed parking. The bonus was the view we had walking into town across the bridge and the lovely views from the bar. The walk into town really didn't take long and was very straightforward, even I couldn't get lost with my terrible sense of direction! The room and bathroom were huge, we had lots of space.
